BATTLELORE Part Ways With Singer, Announce Temporary Replacement
August 30, 2004Finnish "fantasy metal" band BATTLELORE have parted ways with male vocalist Patrik Mennander. Patrik "left the band since he no longer has enough time to give this project 100%," reads a posting on the group's web site. "The decision was made with full understanding on both sides and the whole BATTLELORE crew wishes all the best for Patrik and his family. BATTLELORE will play their last gig with Patrik in the RingCon festivals, October 29th. Patrik will not join the band for either of the tours with LEAVES' EYES and ATROCITY."
Replacing Mennander in BATTLELORE's lineup is EVEMASTER frontman Tomi Mykkänen. Mykkänen "will be joining BATTLELORE for both tours as a session vocalist," the group write on their web site. "In the future we will search for a male vocalist to join the band as a full member. The new vocalist will start by singing on our third album."
In other news, BATTLELORE have announced that bassist Miika Kokkola will not be joining the group on the tour because of "personal reasons." ELDERTHRONES' Timo Honkanen (who is also BATTLELORE's webmaster) will be joining the band on tour as a session bass player.
"Although there have been loads of things happening within the BATTLELORE camp, there's no reason to worry," the posting continues. "We are not splitting up under any circumstances. A full album of songs are merely waiting to be recorded and we will enter the studio in the beginning of 2005."
